What we publish, and how we check it
Most pages about SR-22 insurance are written to rank. This one explains the rules the rest of the site is written under, including the ones we have broken and what happened next. Every carrier statement here is a quotation from that carrier, linked and dated, and where a carrier publishes nothing we say so.
How we are paid, and by whom
We are a referral service. When you call the number on this site you reach an agency network, and that network pays us for the introduction. You pay nothing, and we never see your money.
What that changes
It means we are paid when you call, not when you buy. Nobody here earns more if you choose one carrier over another, because we do not sell the policy and we are not told what you bought.
What it does not change
It is still an incentive, and you should read this site knowing it exists. That is why the rules below are published rather than described, and why our carrier pages quote the carrier instead of characterising them.
What we will not put on a page
These are the rules the site is written under. Each one is enforced by an automated check in our codebase, and each one exists because it was broken at least once.
Every claim on a page has a row in our claims file first.
New claim, then the record, then the page. Not the other way around. If we cannot defend a claim in writing, it does not go on the site.
Every claim must be true under the most literal reading.
Not true-ish, not true-in-spirit. If a sentence is clever and a literal reader would be misled, the sentence is wrong.
We publish no ratings, awards or accreditations.
We hold none. That includes BBB accreditation, which we do not have and will not imply.
We state no price for a named insurer.
What a policy costs depends on your record and your state, and no carrier publishes a table. Any figure printed beside a brand name is one somebody made up. The only money on this site is a state filing fee, described as the state’s.
We publish no superlative we cannot defend.
No "number one", no "most trusted", no "top providers". A ranking implies a methodology, and we do not publish one.
Partner agents and carriers file the certificate. We refer.
We are a referral service, not an insurance agency. We never write that we file, transmit or submit anything, because we do not.
A fact about a state is checked against that state.
Requirements are not uniform and the differences are not small. Four states do not use the SR-22 at all, and one of them uses a different form entirely.
A fact about a company comes from that company.
Quoted from their own page, linked, and dated. Where a carrier publishes nothing, we say that instead of guessing, and twelve of our twenty-five carrier pages say exactly that.
When we get something wrong, we correct it and say so.
The record below is not decoration. It is the part that makes the rest of this page checkable.
Corrections, in full
Rule nine says we correct things publicly. These are the two that mattered most, both found in August 2026, both live on this site until they were fixed.
We published research we had not done
Two articles referred to a study of carrier quotes that did not exist, and printed monthly prices for named insurers as though they were its findings. No such study was ever run and the figures were not real. Every one of them has been deleted, and an automated check now rejects any price printed beside a company name, along with any first-person claim to research.
We printed Florida's law as Virginia's
An FR-44 in Florida requires 100/300/50 liability limits, which Florida sets in statute. Virginia publishes no figure of its own: its DMV sets the FR-44 at double the ordinary state minimum, and that minimum changed on 1 January 2025. We had Florida’s number on Virginia pages in sixteen places, including the search description for one of our most-visited pages. Both statutes were read at source and every instance corrected.
Found something wrong? Tell us and we will correct it. Corrections reach the people who run the site, not a sales queue.
How a carrier page gets written
Every page about a named insurer follows the same four steps, and the fourth is the one that makes the other three checkable.
- 01
We read the carrier’s own site
Not a comparison site, not a blog, not another referral service. If the carrier has an SR-22 page, that is the source.
- 02
We quote it rather than summarise it
Their words, in quotation marks, so you can see exactly what was said and what was not.
- 03
We link the page and date the reading
So you can check it yourself, and so you know how old the answer is.
- 04
Where they publish nothing, we say so
Twelve of our twenty-five carrier pages report that the company says nothing about SR-22 on its own site. That is a real answer to the question, and most sites will not give it.
See it applied: all twenty-five carrier pages, or the state requirements.
