We do not sell insurance. We put you on the phone with someone who does
SR-22 Insurance Now is a referral service. We are not an insurance agency, we do not underwrite policies, and we never file a certificate ourselves. What we do is shorter to describe than most sites make it: you call one number, and a licensed agent compares carriers that will write a record like yours in your state.
How we are paid
The agency network that answers your call pays us for the introduction. You are never charged, and you are never billed by us. You should know that before you read anything else on this site.
We are paid for the call
Not for the sale. Nobody here earns more if you pick one carrier over another, because we do not sell the policy and are not told which one you chose.
It is still an incentive
Read the site knowing it exists. The rules we write under are published for that reason, including the corrections.
What we will not tell you
A site that answers everything is usually guessing at some of it. These are the questions we deliberately do not answer, and the reason in each case.
What your policy will cost
It depends on your record, your state and the carrier, and no insurer publishes a table you could look yourself up in. Any site printing a monthly figure beside a company name invented it. The only money we state is a state filing fee, described as the state’s.
Whether a particular carrier will accept you
That is underwriting. No carrier publishes who it declines, so a page saying a company “offers SR-22” has answered a different question from the one you asked.
Legal advice about your case
We can tell you what a state publishes about its filing requirement. What it means for your conviction, your hearing or your licence is a question for a lawyer or the state itself.
What a licensed producer would tell you
There is no licensed insurance producer on staff here. The people who can advise you are the agents who answer the phone. We are the introduction, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise.
What we do publish, and how to check it
Three things, and each one is sourced rather than asserted.
State requirements
What each state asks for, taken from the state’s own pages where we could read them.
All 50 statesWhat carriers say
Quoted from the carrier’s own site, linked and dated. Where a carrier publishes nothing, we say that instead.
25 carriersHow we check it
The nine rules, the method, and the corrections we have had to publish.
Editorial standardsOne call, about three minutes
A specialist can tell you what your state requires and what a policy costs for a record like yours. Your certificate is filed electronically by the agent, so it reaches the state the same day in most states. The referral is free.
