Why the distinction is not pedantry
There is no national, carrier-owned AAA SR-22 page. AAA clubs operate as independent insurance agencies and place coverage with partner carriers. One club lists AAA Insurance, Safeco, Travelers, The Hanover, Progressive and Grange among them. AAA itself is not the entity that would file. This matters because an agency and a carrier answer different questions. An agency can tell you who it can place you with. Only the carrier that ends up writing you can file your SR-22, set your premium, or decline you. A page that treats AAA as the filer is describing a step that AAA does not perform.
